Mission Statement: The Recreation Department is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive recreation program for the residents of Methuen. In addition to organizing year round activities, the Recreation Department also acts as an informational clearinghouse for other youth sports organizations in the city. The Department conducts CORI checks on all youth sports coaches, manages the town beach at Forest Lake, administers the permitting process for the City’s athletic fields, works with the Methuen Youth Commission in providing activities for our youth and conducts Youth Sports Clinics to train coaches of various youth sports.
