Mission Statement: The Purchasing Department is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services utilized by all departments in the City Government. The Purchasing Department processes thousands of purchase orders and manages numerous invitations for bids and requests for proposals. The Purchasing Dept. is also responsible for the disposal of surplus equipment.
The Purchasing Department oversees the City's adherance to State procurement laws by sending its personnel to training related to Chapter 30B and other Massachusetts statutes. We strive to maintain a high level of quality in the procurement process that we oversee.
